No, you may place all items that can be recycled in the recycling cart without separating them. The only exception is shredded paper. Please place shredded paper in a bag, so the little pieces don't blow everywhere.

You can continue to use the bin inside your home for collecting recyclables and taking them to the cart. You can use it for storage around the house. There are no plans to remove the bins. However, if you no longer want the bin you may recycle it in your new cart.

If your cart is broken or damaged, you may contact the City of Mansfield at 817-276-4240 or Republic Services at 817-317-2000. A new cart will be delivered as soon as possible. If your cart is frequently missing or frequently in need of replacement, you may be charged a fine.

If the recycling cart is not placed out before 7 a.m., you will run the risk of it not being emptied. If the cart is not accessible from the street it may not be emptied. Please make sure to place the cart away from all obstructions (mailboxes, parked cars, etc). Remember to place only accepted recyclable materials in the cart and to place it out on the curb on your designated recycling collection day. These carts can not be used on your regular trash day or for any other purpose than recycling. Republic Services will leave a note identifying any problems with your cart.

It is likely that over time your recycling cart will begin to have an unpleasant odor. Simply wash the cart with a water hose when this begins to happen. It is OK to use a small amount of soap, provided the soap is rinsed from the cart. It is recommended this be done after the cart has been emptied so that it will be dry when you start to use it again.
